This is a case study and not in any case a suggestion of how to deal with illegal software !
Everything has been searched for the sake of knowledge.
To have the video out with a 5$ cable from a ipod/iphone with ios 4.x
- install from cydia: resupported4, resupported4 SBsetting, DisplayOut (you have to buy the latter while the first is a free 10day trial)
- download resupported4 deb package with a serial generator
- get your ipod id from linux:
- ipod-read-sysinfo-extended <device|uuid|bus device> <mountpoint>
- get your serial from wine keygen.exe
- as an example you should obtain something like here (which is to remind me the formats)
- download DisplayOut deb package (in case you really want to use it you can buy it from the store)
- put in a temp dropbox folder (assuming you have dropbox on your ipod/iphone)
- (also assuming that you have ifile on your ipod) use ifile to install them from dropbox (the deb packages will in case substitute the one you installed before this is needed to have the SBbuttons which otherwise on the installation will overwrite the plist file)
- lock the version of resupported4 from cydia
- modify on your ipod with ifile /User/Library/Preferences/com.phoenix.resupported4.plist as follows
- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>key</key>
<string>LEAVE THE STRING AS IT IS</string>
<key>msg</key>
<string></string>
<key>YOUR KEY</key>
<true/>
<key>vers</key>
<string>1.6-4</string>
</dict>
</plist> - check that the resupported is registered now (inside general settings) and that you have the SBicons on your menù
enjoy your video out
PS I experienced that the best setting to have the all screen on your prj is 0.9 size for DisplayOut
How do I download anything from here when I have no option to register!!! - Annie
